Bethany Lester, PT
Physical Therapist
Certified Dry Needling Specialist
Bethany Lester, originally from Amarillo, TX, has dedicated her life to physical therapy and wellness. She earned her BS in Exercise Physiology from Texas Tech University in 1991 and her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University in 1995. For nearly 30 years, Bethany has served the McKinney community, focusing on orthopedic physical therapy.
Bethany’s expertise is wide-ranging, with certifications in dry needling and Graston techniques, and extensive experience with the McKenzie method. Her holistic approach includes activity modification, continuous education, and a focus on muscle strength and biomechanics, all aimed at restoring her patients to their favorite activities and improving their quality of life.
Outside of her professional life, Bethany is a fitness enthusiast who enjoys gym workouts, outdoor adventures, travel, horseback riding, and shopping. Her commitment to health and an active lifestyle inspires her work and her patients.
After many years in large, hospital-based clinics, Bethany joined PTM to embrace a smaller, more patient-focused environment. This change allows her to provide the personalized care and attention each patient deserves, reinforcing her commitment to their well-being.
Dr "Max" Chun Huan Shih, PT, DPT
Doctor of Physical Therapy
Meet Max, a dedicated physical therapist with a rich background and a zest for life! Born and raised in Taiwan, Max earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy in 2015. With extensive experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings across Taiwan and Singapore, he moved to the U.S. to pursue his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Loma Linda University, California, graduating in 2020. He now calls the Dallas-Fort Worth area home.
Max specializes in treating orthopedic and neurological disorders with evidence-based approaches and is currently working towards certifications in vestibular rehabilitation, sports physical therapy, and hopes to become a certified MSK sonographer in the future. His athletic background- playing handball, baseball, tennis, table tennis, and basketball- has fueled his passion for working with athletes. In PT school, he also led the sports physical therapy team.
He chose Physical Therapy of Melissa for its patient-centered approach and is committed to sharing his knowledge to provide the best care possible. Outside of work, Max is a globe-trotter, having visited over 15 countries across Asia, Europe, and North America. He loves exploring new cultures, trying different foods, and enjoys water activities, including freediving and stand-up paddleboarding. Weekends are spent with his lovely wife and son, making the most of family time.
Annette Jones, PTA
Physical Therapist Assistant
Annette was born and raised in Southern Utah. Being from Southern Utah, the biggest recreation and National Parks area, she knows the importance of maintaining an active lifestyle. This passion in physical fitness has inspired her to pursue her career in Physical Therapy. She went to Southern Utah University (SUU) for her Associates of Science and Dixie State University (DSU) for the Physical Therapist Assistant Program.
In Utah, Annette really enjoyed hiking, snowboarding and Ice fishing. Since moving to Texas, she has discovered a love for boating on a pontoon at the nearby lakes, is loving all the rainstorms and eating some great Texas food!
When she’s not at work helping her patients with their physical health, she is at home improving her own physical fitness and strength. She enjoys using her Nordic stationary bike, strength training and yoga.
Dr Austin Robinson, DC
Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Austin Robinson’s journey began in Dallas, Texas (Go Cowboys!) He earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Southwestern University while playing collegiate soccer for four years, showcasing his dedication both on and off the field.
Pursuing his passion for health and wellness, Dr. Robinson graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree and a Master of Neuroscience from Parker University in Dallas. During his internship at the Parker University Clinic, he became an integral part of the Sports Performance Program, mastering sports rehabilitation and soft tissue techniques. His experiences there equipped him with the skills to help patients unlock their true potential and embrace a pain-free life.
Firmly believing that movement is medicine, Dr. Robinson integrates chiropractic adjustments, rehab exercises, and soft tissue treatments to promote holistic health. After graduating in 2020, he had been practicing in Bozeman, MT, where he treated a diverse range of patients.
Now, Dr. Robinson is excited to bring his expertise to the Melissa, TX community, helping residents lead healthier, more active lives. He lives in North Texas with his wife, their lively 2-year-old daughter, and a loyal 10-year-old Pitbull mix. Outside of the clinic, you’ll find Dr. Robinson hiking, kayaking, and enjoying the great outdoors with his family.
Desiree Stoerkel, LMT
Licensed Massage Therapist
Desiree grew up in Virginia and has called Melissa home for the past nine years. Her daughter, now a senior at Melissa High School, brings her immense pride as a member of this vibrant community.
Before transitioning to massage therapy, Desiree dedicated an impressive 17 years to veterinary medicine as a technician, with a particular focus on internal medicine during the last eight years. Her passion for understanding how bodies work naturally led her to pursue a career in massage therapy. While working towards her massage therapy license, she joined the Physical Therapy of Melissa team as a physical therapy aide, eager to deepen her knowledge and skills.
Desiree’s excitement to help people move better and provide relaxation through her massage therapy sessions is palpable. She aims to become the appointment everyone looks forward to. In her free time, she loves reading, hiking, traveling, and spoiling her beloved Golden Doodle, Coach.
Lisa Puckett
Patient Experience Manager
Lisa has an energetic personality who loves helping others and seeing them succeed! Her role as a Patient Experience Coordinator is to ensure patients are comfortable and informed and to provide a painless process for scheduling and reaching their recovery goals. Lisa prepared for college by taking every available math and science class and entering all UIL competitions, bringing home the gold medal in Physics!
She earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Child Development and Family services from the University of North Texas with additional degrees in Biology and Psychology. Lisa has always had a strong desire to be of service to others and works daily to be a positive influence. Her education and career path have enabled her to be instrumental in helping others achieve their goals and reach success. Curious by nature, Lisa enjoys reading and learning about everything! As a mother of 3 boys, ages 25, 20, and 11; she finds joy in all outdoor activities.
Her innate curiosity has led her and her sons on many fantastic adventures from dirt biking and boating to museum tours and new dining experiences. Currently a dedicated “baseball mom”, she takes pride in watching her youngest grow in his passion. When not at a baseball game, you will most likely find her at the lake or curled up with a new book!
Juana Govea
Patient Experience Coordinator
Juanita is a recently married mom to a lively toddler, known for her resourcefulness and deep knowledge in her field. She is dedicated to ensuring that her clients’ insurance details are accurate and well-managed, always bringing a friendly and caring approach to her work. Outside of her professional life, Juanita cherishes quality time with her family and enjoys drawing, working out and painting. Balancing work, family, and personal passions, Juanita is committed to helping others and making a positive impact in both her professional and personal life.
Natalia Thompson
Physical Therapist Aide
Natalia Thompson is a native Texan who has graduated from McKinney high school in 2021. She is now a college student at Collin College and is majoring in Biology with a passion to pursue a career as a Physical Therapist. She has found this passion while taking a Performance of Rehabilitative Medicine (PRM) course in high school and exploring different aspects of the medical field. She was introduced to Physical Therapy of Melissa through her PRM course and was excited to join the team as a technician.
Becoming a Technician at PTM has been a great opportunity for her to get to work with patients and help with their exercises, and even have guidance from the Physical Therapists for advice on her future endeavors.
Some of Natalia’s favorite hobbies are playing volleyball, traveling (beaches specifically), painting, trying new foods, and hanging out with my friends and family!
Abigail Barlow-Jones

Abby is a highly energetic and athletic individual with a deep passion for fitness, wellness, and healthy living. With a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Abby has a solid foundation in understanding the body’s mechanics and the importance of physical therapy, an area that has been personally transformative. Through firsthand experience, Abby believes strongly in the power of physical therapy for recovery and performance enhancement.
In addition to a commitment to physical health, Abby enjoys cooking, especially preparing nutritious meals that fuel an active lifestyle. Recently married, Abby values the balance of a fulfilling personal life alongside professional ambitions and health goals. Whether in the gym, the kitchen, or spending time with loved ones, she lives with enthusiasm and purpose, always striving to be the best version of themselves.
Logan Cagley
Physical Therapist Aide
Logan Cagley, a graduate of Melissa High School, is currently attending Collin College with plans to transfer to the University of North Texas. Passionate about mental health, Logan is dedicated to pursuing a career as a licensed mental health counselor. He is focused on acquiring the skills and knowledge necessary to make a lasting, positive impact on others’ well-being.
In his downtime, Logan enjoys watching NBA games, lifting weights, and spending quality time with friends. These activities provide him with the opportunity to unwind, stay active, and maintain balance as he works toward his academic and professional goals. Whether it’s supporting his favorite team or staying fit, Logan understands the value of relaxation, fitness, and building strong social connections.
